‘Cebuano Moment Abroad’ Video Contest
Thousands of Cebuanos leave the Philippines for work abroad. While they are able to provide for their families left behind, these overseas Cebuano workers or immigrants bring a part of Cebu with them wherever they may go.
Show the world how you, a Cebuano, are able to incorporate Cebuano practices and culture into your life overseas.Capture in video a Cebuano moment abroad.
Use humor or emotion to portray the “moment” in your personal terms.
Contest rules:
Entries must convey the theme of a “Cebuano moment abroad.”
Contest is open to Cebuanos residing outside of the Philippines. This includes overseas Cebuano workers and immigrants originally from Cebu and their families.
Video length limit:
Three (3) minutes or less. The entry should be in avi, wmv or mpeg format.
Prizes:
The top five (5) selections will be published in the 10th issue of the Sun.Star Cebu Yearbook 2010 and included in a DVD to be inserted into the Yearbook.
Winners will also receive the following: Gold award – US$500 cash, Silver award – US$200 cash, and three (3) Bronze awards – US$100 cash each.

Submission procedure:
Upload your entry to a video-sharing website (examples: YouTube, Multiply, Facebook, etc.).
Copy and paste the link to your video on the body of an e-mail form.
In the subject line of the e-mail, write “Video Contest” and your name.
In the message form of the e-mail, put the link to your video entry, state your name, current address abroad and Cebu address.
Send the e-mail to video@sunstar.com.ph
All submissions automatically become the property of Sun.Star Publishing Inc. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges whose decision will be final.
Judging criteria:
Originality and creativity - 40%
Adherence to the theme - 30%
Overall appeal - 30%

I believe this contest will give us a chance to show to the world how the Cebuanos spend their time at work, for we are better known as hardworking people anywhere abroad, and at leisure time, where we also gather to hear mass on Sundays, play sports or have a good time with beer and lechon…

Actually pasalamat jud ko sa Lord nga adunay Sunstar daily news nga website sa internet kay dako kaayog gikatabang sa akong kinabuhi diri sa England. Updated jud intawon ko sa matag adlaw adlaw nga balita sa diha sa Cebu. Mao kini ang tambal sa kamingaw sa Cebu ug sa akong mga anak nga si Juneross, Mathwell and Jorrel.
