A LOCAL businessman was stabbed by a relative in Zamboanga City, the police reported.

The incident took place shortly after noontime Friday at the local waterfront market.

The victim was identified as Albini Jaani, 26. He suffered a stab wound in the forehead and was admitted in the hospital.

The police said that Jaani was allegedly stabbed by his cousin, Manan Elbañez, following a misunderstanding.

The police learned that Elbañez armed himself with a knife after he and his cousin engaged in a heated altercation, and stabbed the victim.

The suspect fled and is still at large, the police said.
