Friday, August 12, 2011
A NURSE working at a government-run hospital in Zamboanga City has qualified to the Miss World Philippines final 25.
EBAF Production manager Edgar Baños said Joey Albert Short, 22, a nurse at the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC), hurdled the final screening held last Tuesday at Mida Hotel in Pasay City.
Baños said Short was one of the three Zamboanguenas who managed to get to the final screening following a pre-screening held last month in Zamboanga City under EBAF Productions, Miss World Philippines co-venture partner in the search.
The other two other Zamboanguenas were Vesper Alora and Rizza Chew.
Short is set to join the other 24 beautiful ladies from across the country for the finals scheduled to be held on September this year.
The pageant will be the first ever Miss World Philippines beauty pageant in Manila, now held independently from other pageants.
The Miss World Beauty Pageant is franchised to CQGQ of Cory Quirino. (Bong Garcia)
