Distribution of fuel assistance card readied

THE regional Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) are preparing for the distribution of fuel assistance cards to public transport drivers in Zamboanga City.

Each accredited member of public transport group in the city is entitled to receive a one-time P1,050 fuel assistance under President Benigno Simeon Aquino III's fuel subsidy program.

Regional Director Aminola Abaton said the distribution of the "Pantawid Pasada Card" is in line with Executive Order 32 of President Aquino last April 1, instituting the public transport assistance program.

Abaton said he and LTFRB Regional Director Abdulgafar Mohammad will have to meet with transport groups to discuss the implementation of the subsidy program.

He said they will determine during the meeting how many of the public utility drivers are entitled to receive the Pantawid Pasada Card. (Bong Garcia)
