Truckload of lumber intercepted in Zambo

POLICE authorities have intercepted a truckload of undocumented lumber in a west coast village in Zamboanga City on Thursday.
Three people who were caught transporting the forest products without necessary permits were detained at the local police station.
Chief Inspector Felixberto Martinez, Police Station 7 commander, said the truck was intercepted around 12:10 p.m. Wednesday in the village of San Roque, six kilometers west of the city.
Arrested were Vicente Bustamante, 50, truck driver and his two helpers Hilton Flores, 29, and Manuel Jimenez, 54.
Matinez said the City Environment and Natural Resources Office will determine the volume of the intercepted logs.
The confiscated logs are allegedly owned by one Jaime Belamide Jr.
