MOTORCYCLE-RIDING gunmen shot and killed a public utility jeepney (PUJ) operator outside a local fastfood chain near City Hall, the police reported Monday.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) said the incident took place around 3 p.m. outside a known local fastfood chain along Rizal Street, which is a stone-throw away from City Hall.

The ZCPO identified the victim as Ismael Asarail, who died on the spot from a bullet wound in the head.
Investigation showed Asarail was walking when two men riding tandem in a motorcycle appeared and shot him, the ZCPO said.
Asarail owns some PUJ units plying the route Zamboanga City Public Market-Talon-Talon, the police added.
ZCPO Director Edwin de Ocampo has ordered the case investigator to look into all possible motives that could help unmask the gunmen.
