Gunmen kill canning firm executive

MOTROCYCLE-RIDING gunmen strike again and killed a canning factory executive in a west coast village of Zamboanga City, the police said Tuesday.
The Police Station 9 said the incident took place around 8 a.m. Monday in the village of Recodo, Zamboanga City.

The police identified the victim as Angelito Caabay, 52, the accountant of the Big Fish canning firm.
Investigation showed the victim was driving his Sports Utility Vehicle on the way to work when the culprits attacked him.
Caabay was dead when he reached the hospital, the police said.
Zamboanga City Police Office director Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo has ordered the police to thoroughly investigate the case to unmask the suspects.
Possible involvement of gunmen for hire is being looked into as investigation continues, the police said.
