Public Works lines up P334.5-M infra projects

THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to implement this year 11 infrastructure projects worth P334.5 million in the first congressional district of Zamboanga del Sur province.
DPWH District Engineer Alan Arumpac said the P334.5-million budget allocation will cover several road upgrading projects and preventive maintenance in several towns in the first district of Zamboanga del Sur.

Also lined up for implementation this year are the rehabilitation and widening of the road leading to the airport of Pagadian City, widening and strengthening of Labangan bridge and the construction of Licabang bridge.
It will be implemented by the regional office of the DPWH, Arumpac said.
Arumpac said the projects were already bid out and notice to commence work was already issued.
He said DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson has ordered to fast-track the implementation of the projects and wanted it to be completed on or before September this year.
Meanwhile, he said other projects funded through the priority development assistance fund of Zamboanga del Sur Representative Victor Yu (1st district) will also be implemented. (Bong Garcia)
