Police ready for Zamboanga’s charter day

THE Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) is fielding at least 200 policemen to ensure the peaceful celebration of the city's 75th Charter Day celebration on Sunday, February 26.
ZCPO Director Edwin de Ocampo said he will also deploy his office personnel to render field duty on Sunday.

A grand parade, which will start in downtown area passing through the major thoroughfare and end at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Jr. Memorial Sports Complex, is set to be held Sunday.
A program will follow at the sports complex with Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq as the keynote speaker.
De Ocampo said they will implement tight security measures, as he admitted "that threat always exists."
He said they divided the grand parade route into four sectors and have designated police officers to head the security team in each sectors.
De Ocampo assured that the ZCPO will be assisted by members of the Task Force Zamboanga and other law enforcement agencies in implementing the security measures.
