Professor Roberto Torres, head of WMSU Culture and Arts office, said the Arts camp is aimed to teach participants on the basics and breakthroughs of performing arts like street dancing and shadow theatre among others.
In short, Torres said the participants will learn the introductory discipline of performing arts.
Aside from the camp, Torres said other activities are set for the National Arts Month celebration, which forms part of the city’s 75th Charter Day celebration or locally known as Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga.
He said that a food demonstration dubbed as the Gulucinas de Zamboanga will take place on February 21 at the WMSU-College of Home Economics.
It will be followed by a back-to-back competition on declamation for the elementary level and oration for the tertiary level at the WMSU gymnasium, he said.
The National arts Month celebration will culminate February 29 with a cultural show, dance competition, and Chabacano choral competition also at WMSU gym, Torres added. (Bong Garcia)
