THE Zamboanga City Government has set a two-day food festival that would showcase the finest Zamboangueño delicacies.
The event, which will be held from February 23 to 24 at the Plaza del Pilar, is one of the prime highlights of the 75th Dia de Zamboanga celebration (Zamboanga Charter Day Celebration).

City Hall information officer Sheila Covarrubias said Saturday the five restaurants and catering service providers will participate in the two-day food festival.
Covarrubias said the Alavar Seafoods House, Chinitos D’ Gathering Place, Recados Restaurant, Collete’s Buko Pie and Pasalubong and Café Zambo are among the key players of the event that promises a mouth-watering experience.
She said with Zamboangueño-inspired menus, the appetite-tempting fair is expected to once again draw a number of food aficionados with a handsome offer of P150 for four to five combo meal.
Aside from the promised palatable dishes, guests and patrons will also be entertained with live and acoustic music that will run from 5 p.m. onwards, she said.
Just like in previous events, she said the food festival is a celebration of Zamboangueños’ love for food.
It will also give visitors -- domestic and foreigners alike -- the chance to witness how these cuisines are prepared and how they taste, she said. - (Bong Garcia)
