Archdiocese waits for new bishop's appointment

THE Archdiocese of Zamboanga City is waiting on who will be appointed as replacement of Monsigñor Romulo Valles, who was transferred and named the new Archbishop of Davao City.
Zamboanga Archdiocese Vicar General Monsigñor Chris Manongas said Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Valles last February 11 as the replacement of Davao Archbishop Fernando Capalla who retired at the age of 77.

Manongas said they are still waiting and nobody knows who will replace Valles since there is no word yet from the Vatican.
The appointment of Valles' replacement would also be made by Pope Benedict XVI, Manongas said.
