THE Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) Hawks Pep Squad bested the other four competitors for the 2012 Open Cheerdance Competition, avenging their loss to Pilar College who put to a halt their grand slam winning streak in 2011.
The Hawks, a group composed of students from the WMSU College of Engineering, took home P30,000, medals and a trophy as champion of the annual event that form part of the 75th Dia de Zamboanga (Zamboanga Charter Day) celebration.
