Red Cross sets summer safety institute-A A +A

THE Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC)-Zamboanga City chapter, through its Safety Services, is set to conduct a 45-day Summer Safety Institute-2012 (SSI-'12) in Zamboanga City, a PNRC official announced.
PNRC-Zamboanga City chapter administrator Victor Liozo Jr. said the SSI-'12 is scheduled to be held from April 2 to May 19 this year.
Liozo said the SSI's objective is to provide participants with knowledge and skills on how to save life with the different courses integrated in the syllabus of SSI-'12.
The 45-day training will offer the following courses: First Aid Instructor Course, Basic Life Support-Community CPR Instructor Course, Ambulance Management, Home Nursing, Herbal preparation, Water Safety (Swimming/Survival/Lifeguarding), Discover Scuba diving, Basic Rope Rescue Technician Course (Rappelling) and Summer Camping (survival).
Liozo said this year's training is the 20th batch to be conducted by the PNRC-Zamboanga City chapter.
A registration fee of P4,000 will be collected per participant to help defray expenses of the 45-day training, Liozo said.
A special discount will be given to Red Cross Emergency Response and Chapter Volunteers, Liozo said.
The registration form is available at the PNRC-Zamboanga City chapter office at Pettit Barracks, Zamboanga City.
