9 soldiers hurt in road mishap

NINE soldiers were injured when the truck they were riding plunged into a ravine in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer Inspector Dahlan Samuddin said the incident took place around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the village of Gandiangan, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Top fugitive arrested

THE police have arrested one of the most wanted persons in the province of Zamboanga del Norte.

The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office identified the arrested fugitive as Telesporo Recla, 76, a resident of the village of Opao, Dapitan City.

Bamboo Reforestation Project launched

A TOTAL of 200 bamboos were planted inside Camp Don Basilio Navarro that houses the military's Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) headquarters in the village of Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City.

The planting of the 200 bamboos came as Westmincom chief Lieutenant General Rustico Guerrero led Wednesday the launching of the Bamboo Reforestation Project (BRP) in the city.

Cargo firm eyes ISO certification

LTO gets 18,500 new license plates

THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has received 18,500 new license plates to be issued to vehicle owners in line with LTO’s plate standardization program in the country.

LTO-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Aminola Abaton said the new motor vehicle license plates will be issued to owners who acquired their vehicles just last year.

10th most wanted person falls

POLICEMEN from Zamboanga del Norte have arrested one of the 10 most wanted persons in Cebu, a police official said Tuesday.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer Inspector Dahlan Samuddin identified the arrested fugitive as Harold Regencia, 39, a resident of Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte.

Gunmen kill village official

MOTORCYCLE-RIDING gunmen have shot and killed a village official in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Monday.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula Information Officer Inspector Dahlan Samuddin identified the slain official as Roger Espina, 47, a councilman in the village of Ramon Magsaysay, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.

P4.9M destroyed in fire

AT LEAST P4.9 million worth of properties went up in smoke in more than five-house conflagration in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police said.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Director Sofronio Ecaldre said the fire broke out around 1:50 a.m. Saturday and razed to the ground eight commercial establishments and three residential houses in the village of Poblacion B, Midsalip town.

Security in place for Misa de Gallo

Customs eyes to hasten processing system

Emergency employment up for canning firm workers

Police recover P6-M shabu

A KILO of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu with an estimated market value of P6 million was recovered from an apartment in Zamboanga City, the police reported Tuesday.

90 hired on the spot in jobs fair
