THE City Development Council (CDC) of Lamitan City, one of the component cities of Basilan province, is scheduled to meet to identify the priority projects that will be included in the supplemental budget for the city.
Lamitan City Mayor Roderick Furigay said they have more than P21 million to be realigned and to be used in the city’s supplemental budget.
Furigay said the amount was earlier set aside to pay the first month of amortization on the proposed loan of P300 million the City Government intends to apply from a government bank.
However, proposal failed to get the approval of the Lamitan City Council since the opposition councilors voted against it.
“We will use the money to implement projects beneficial to the Lamiteños,” Furigay said.
Among the projects to be implemented with funding coming from the supplemental budget are road concreting in 30 of the 45 village of Lamitan City, he said.
He said they will also allocate funds, also coming from the supplemental budget, to augment the allowances of 120 Barangay Health Workers and 58 Madaris school teachers. (Bong Garcia)
