OFFICIALS of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Zamboanga City chapter are calling on the public to donate blood to ensure regular supply for people in need of blood transfusion.
Dr. Kelly Geronimo said there was an increase in the demand for blood since the PRC-Zamboanga City chapter was declared as the Regional Blood Bank.
Geronimo said the increase on the demand for blood came after the PRC-Zamboanga City chapter has started serving the nearby provinces.
PRC-Zamboanga City Chapter Administrator Victor Liozo Jr. also said they have intensified their information drive about the importance of blood donation.
Aside from going to the villages, Liozo said their advocacy now extends even to elementary pupils, Liozo said.
He added that they have scheduled many blood-donation activities for the entire month of July. (Bong Garcia)
