All set for Zambo business confab

SOME 200 business and political leaders are attending the two-day 8th Zamboanga Peninsula Business Conference (Zampenbizcon), a business official announced.
Lawyer Paul Gudmalin, president of the Dipolog City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCCI), said all is set for the holding of the 8th Zampenbizcon from July 18 to 20.
The Oroquieta City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCCI) will be hosting this year’s Zampenbizcon in cooperation with the Oroquieta City Government and Ozamis City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to Gudmalin.
This year’s Zampenbizcon is themed “One. Global. Filipino: Business Synergy through Public-Private partnership at work.”
The 7th Zampenbizcon was held last year in Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte, with DCCCI as host.
Among the major topics that will be discussed in the conference include plans and programs for Mindanao by Mindanao Development Authority (Minda) Secretary Lualhati Antonino and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)-Mindanao’s plan for Zamboanga Peninsula.
Banks and other financial institutions will be presenting their respective products.
There will also be presentation of programs and services by different government line agencies that include the Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Tourism, Department of Agriculture, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Science and Technology, Philippine Coconut Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Gudmalin said the business gab seeks to promote a unified effort to strengthen and stimulate Small and Medium Enterprises in Zamboanga Peninsula through networking and policy support. (Bong Garcia)
