Gun attack injures meat vendor

A MEAT merchant survived in an attack although wounded in a robbery hold-up in Zamboanga City, the police reported Tuesday.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) said the incident took place around 10:28 p.m. Monday along Nuñez Extension in the city.
The victim was identified as Joel Luena, 33, who was hit once after he managed to avoid three other bullets during the attack, the police said.
Luena, who was hit on his back, owns and manages a meat stall at the waterfront public market.
Luena told the police that an unidentified man armed with caliber .45 pistol suddenly appeared and opened fire while he was walking at the back of a private hospital along Nuñez Extension.
Though wounded, the victim managed to run and sought refuge at the Ciudad Medical Zamboanga, the police said.
Four empty shells of caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the crime by the responding policemen, the police reported. (Bong Garcia)
