ONE person was killed while another was unscathed in two separate robbery hold-ups in Zamboanga City, the police reported Tuesday.
Killed was Pilardo Ginete, 51, a carpenter who moonlights as “habal-habal” driver while unscathed was Jobeth Bedayo, 26, a development officer of the Micro Entrepreneurs Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Mempco), the police said.
Ginete was shot and killed shortly after noon on Tuesday at Sitio Mulu Muluan, Mercedes village, 14 kilometers east of the city.
Before the incident, a passenger boarded Ginete’s motorcycle at Zone 1, Mercedes village and ordered him to proceed to Sitio Mulu-Muluan.
However, another passenger boarded Ginete’s motorcycle upon reaching the junction of Sta. Filomena, bringing his passengers to two.
Upon reaching Sitio Mulu-Muluan, Ginete was shot and killed by one of his two passengers, who carted away the victim’s motorcycle when they fled, the police said.
On the other hand, Bedayo was returning to the city proper when intercepted by three unidentified gunmen around 10:15 a.m. Monday in Barangay Upper Calarian, seven kilometers west of the city.
The suspects took Bedayo’s belt bag containing P10,775 and his motorcycle, leaving him behind unharmed, the police said.
