ZAMBOANGA City Mayor Celso Lobregat continued the distribution of vehicles aimed to enhance the delivery of government services to Zamboanga City’s 98 villages.
The latest recipients were 25 villages, including eight island villages, which received their vehicles on Thursday and Friday.
The eight island villages received on Friday a multi-cab and a motorized banca (canoe) worth P290,000 and P150,000 each, respectively.
The mainland villages provided with 4x4 pick-up type vehicles worth P997,500 each.
Lobregat personally handed over the vehicles in simple turnover ceremonies after the vehicles were blessed one after the other by Fr. William Quiamjot.
A total of 78 villages have already received their vehicles, the remaining 19 villages will get their vehicles in the coming days, Lobregat said.
The funds for the purchase of the vehicles were taken from the 2010 and 2011 budgets of the City Government, he said. (Bong Garcia)
