THE Police Regional Office (PRO) of Zamboanga Peninsula is now accepting applications for the new police recruitment, PRO chief for Human Resource Development Romeo Uy said.
Senior Superintendent Uy said the quota for the Attrition Recruitment Program is intended for family members and relatives of policemen who will retire from the Philippine National Police (PNP) in 2012.
“Policemen who will retire from the service this year will be replaced by family members and relatives if they are qualified to join the PNP,” Uy said.
“They are the priority for the recruitment under the attrition program,” Uy added.
He said the quota distribution for the second semester this year is 22 recruits for the towns of Kalawit, Katipunan, Roxas, Salug and Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte; 37 for the municipalities of Aurora, Dumingag, Kumalarang, Lapuyan, Margostubig, Pitogo, Ramon Magsaysay, Tabina and Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur; and 17 for the towns of Kabasalan, Siay, Titay and Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Those who will qualify will take their oath in December, he said, adding that they will undergo a one-year training, which includes six months Police Basic Recruit Course, five-month Field Training Program (FTP) and one-month evaluation.
Afterwards, they will undergo the 45-day Special Counter-Insurgency Unit Training and will then be distributed to the different companies of the 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion (9RPSB).
They are required to serve in the 9RPSB for two years after which they can apply for re-assignment to the different city or municipal police stations in the region. (Bong Garcia)
