Police kill 2 ‘notorious group’ members

TWO members of a suspected notorious group were killed while two others were wounded in a shootout with policemen in Sitio Sapa Seco, Patalon village in Zamboanga City, a police official said Tuesday.
Two other suspects have managed to escape.
Chief Inspector Roberto Marcos, Police Station 10 commander, said the shootout ensued around 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Marcos said the shootout ensued when the suspects opened fire while the policemen were conducting patrol at Sitio Sapa Seco, Patalon village.
The patrolling policemen returned fire, fatally hitting two of the suspects and injured two others.
The suspects are allegedly involved in petty crimes that include holdups and robbery in Patalon village and in nearby areas, Marcos said.
Recovered from the suspects’ possessions were improvised shotgun, caliber .38 pistol and two marble guns. (Bong Garcia)
