Road mishaps kill 2, hurt 3

TWO people were killed while three others were wounded in two separate vehicular accidents in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday.
Killed were Maryjane Tarroza and Nurmina Tejano, both residents of Sitio Matawis, Tigbalabag village.
Wounded were Police Officer 1 (PO1) Eduardo Enate Jr., Police Station 1 commander Senior Inspector Joel Tuttuh, and Michael Enriquez.
Tarroza and Tejano were riding a “habal-habal” (motorcycle), driven by Enriquez, when they were hit by a Pajero vehicle driven by Engineer Daniel Ilagan around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sitio Matawis, Tigbalabag village.
Tarroza and Tejano died on the spot while Enriquez was rushed to the Cristino Paragas Memorial Hospital in the village of Quiniput.
Ilagan voluntarily surrendered to the Police Station 1 headquarters in the village of Vitali.
Meanwhile, Enate was driving a service vehicle of the Police Station 1, with Tuttuh aboard, going to the village of Tictapul, when they collided with a Rural Transit Bus driven by Jonathan Bangon.
The bus, which came from Pagadian City en route to Zamboanga City, collided with the police vehicle after it allegedly encroach the opposite lane. (Bong Garcia)
