TWO people were injured following a dispute over the proper disposal of garbage in an east coast village of Zamboanga City.
The police identified the injured as Uttoh Omar, 47, and Hammis Asari, 35, both residents of Sitio Malasugat, Sangali village, east of the city.
The police said Omar was allegedly hacked and wounded by Asari while the latter was allegedly shot by Mohammad, the son of Omar around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
Investigation showed that before the incident, Asari shouted as he was complaining that waste materials were dumped in front of his residence, the police said.
Without any provocation, the police said that Asari immediately hacked Omar, who went in front of his residence to clean and pick-up the waste materials.
Omar's son, Mohammad, upon seeing his father wounded pulled out a gun and shot Asari, the police said.
Both Omar and Asari were rushed to the hospital for treatment while Mohammad went into hiding the police added. (Bong Garcia)
