Gunman kills canning factory guard

A SECURITY guard detailed at a canning factory was shot and killed by a lone gunman, the police said Wednesday.

The Police Station 9 identified the victim as Paquito Tudio-an, 24, a native of Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur, and a security guard of RD Security Agency.

The police said that Tudio-an died on the spot from multiple gun shots in the head and body.

The victim was on his way to report to his post around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday when a lone gunman repeatedly shot him.

The victim’s post is at the Zamboanga Universal Canning Corporation at Calle Pilar, Ayala village, 16 kilometers west of Zamboanga City, the police said.

The suspect fled toward Calle Fatima of the same village. Investigation continues to establish the motive and unmask the suspect, the police said. (Bong Garcia)
