Zamboanga City police receive assault rifles

Mayor Celso Lobregat has turned over Wednesday some P5 million worth of high-powered rifles, thousands of ammunition, and two units of motorcycle to the ZCPO.
Canning firm supervisor killed

Police Station 9 commander Senior Inspector Edilberto Alvarez said the incident took place around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the village of Recodo, 14.4 kilometers west of this city.

Cop killed while arresting suspect

Zamboanga del Norte police director James Mejia said the incident took place around 5:50 a.m. Monday in the village of Tipan, Gutalac town.
16th most wanted person falls

Talib Asaali, also known as Commander Talib and Saguksuk, was arrested in the village of Dalama, Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said.
Coast Guard intercepts shells cargo

Zamboanga Coast Guard Station commander Jomark Angue said the shipment of shells was intercepted around 6 a.m. Tuesday aboard a commercial ferry that just arrived from Jolo, Sulu.
San Isidro village councilman dies in accident

Gutalac police officer-in-charge Manolo Echem said the mishap happened around 9:05 p.m. Monday in the village of San Isidro, Gutalac municipality.
8 human trafficking victims rescued in Tawi-Tawi
Monday, June 17, 2013 - 08:35 p.m.AN OFFICIAL of the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC) reported that an inter-agency task force has rescued eight human trafficking victims over the weekend in the province of Tawi-Tawi.
All of those rescued by the Bongao Anti-Trafficking Task Force were females, six of them aged 20 to 25 while two were 17 years old, according to PCTC-Western Mindanao field office head Chief Inspector Alvin Lorenzo.
PDEA official dies in shootout

1 killed, 1 hurt in highway robbery

Sarippudin Taup, who is on top of the list of PDEA and the Provincial Intelligence Branch, was arrested following a brief shootout, the police reported Saturday.

Fire razes 7 business establishments

Inspector Dionisio Cayudang, Isabela City fire marshal, said the blaze broke out around 4:25 p.m., and rapidly engulfed the other establishments as the structures are all made of light materials.
