Women investigators undergo specialized training

FIFTY women investigators are undergoing a 10-day specialized course for Women and Children Protection Desk Officers in Zamboanga City.
Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Napoleon Estilles said the 10-day course started on Wednesday and is being held at Camp Abendan houses the PRO headquarters in the city.
Estilles said the policewomen-participants of the 10-day training comprise of investigators from the different police stations in the region.
Estilles' commander covers the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay and the cities of Dapitan, Dipolog, Isabela, Pagadian and Zamboanga.
The 10-day course is intended to enhance the capability of women investigators in handling cases against individuals who committed crimes against women and children.
They will be taught of the Republic Act 9262, otherwise known as the protection of women and children against violence as well as basic and actual investigation will, Estilles added. (Bong Garcia)
