Zamboanga del Norte town gets new police headquarters

THE Municipality of Leon Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte, now has new police headquarters as the construction of the P4.953 million two-storey edifice has been completed.
Police Regional Office director Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles and Leon Postigo Mayor Rolando Tablezo led the inauguration on Tuesday of the new police station.
Estilles said the construction of the new police station was realized through the joint efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Municipal Government of Leon Postigo.
The PNP contributed P3.729 million while the town contributed P1.224 million and the 400 square meters lot where the new police station now stands, Estilles said.
He said the new police headquarters’ building is the testimony and symbol of partnership between the municipal government and the PNP.
He urged the policemen to take care of the facility and to serve the people well.
Leon Postigo, which is comprised of 18 villages, is a fourth class municipality in Zamboanga del Norte with a population of 19,550 in 3,802 households as of 2000 census of the National Statistics Office. (Bong Garcia)
