THE Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is scheduled to host the 2012 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for stakeholders in Zamboanga Peninsula that provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs.
The event is scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the BSP-Zamboanga branch with the theme “Shared Goals, Shared Responsibilities and Valued Partnerships.”
The BSP, through its Zamboanga City office, will give three awards -- two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) respondents and one for the Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments.
The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be given to the BES awardees in the region.
The awardees were selected from among the 27 qualified top corporations in the region that were respondents to the survey in 2011.
On the other hand, the Recognition for Information Sources in generating the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be given to the government agency that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the environment in the region.
Monetary Board Member Felipe Medalla will lead the awards ceremony.
The event in Zamboanga City is the eighth in the series of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events following the awards ceremonies held in Central Luzon, Mimaropa and Calabarzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Soccsksargen from July 11 to September 4, 2012.
Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region (NCR) were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last July 4 at the BSP main office.
The last leg of these activities will be conducted on September 25 this year in La Union to honor stakeholders in various awards categories.
These categories include the Outstanding Respondents for the Business Expectations Survey, Best Respondents for the Cross Border Transactions Survey, Recognition for Financial Learning Campaign Partners, Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments, Financial Inclusion Champion and the Pagtugon Award for Rural and Cooperative Banks, a new award category for exemplary responsiveness to public queries on banking and financial services.
This event is expected to further strengthen the partnership between the BSP and its stakeholders in information gathering and advocacy campaigns that will help the BSP carry out its mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability as well as ensuring an effective payments and settlements system in the country.
