Organized by the City Government of Zamboanga, the food festival is sponsored by San Miguel Brewery and Globe Telecom.

Another kick off activity for the Tourism Week celebration starting Friday will be the Libre Paseo, a free tour of this city’s attractions and tourist sites within the city proper area.

It is set from September 21-23.

Secondary students from public schools will be the participants in the Libre Paseo activity.

Mayor Celso Lobregat has declared September 21-27 as Tourism week in Zamboanga aimed at fostering awareness among the people about the importance of tourism encompassing its social, cultural, political and economic value.

Series of activities have been lined up and will culminate on September 27, which is dubbed as World Tourism Day and is themed “Tourism and Sustainable Energy: Powering Sustainable Development.” (Bong Garcia)
