Gunmen kill ex-councilor, injures another

MOTORCYCLE riding gunmen have killed a former municipal councilor and injured an upholstery shop worker in a west coast village in Zamboanga City.
Killed was Hussin Hassan, 40, a former councilor in the municipality of Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte, the police said.
The police added that the incident took place around 3 p.m. on Sunday at an upholstery shop at Block 7, in the village of San Jose Gusu, in this city.
Hassan suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival by attending physician at the Zamboanga A. E. Community Medical Hospital.
Wounded was Jimmy Mesias, 34, who was hit by a stray bullet.
The police said Hassan was inside the upholstery shop of Diosdado Cueno where Mesias is working when two unidentified men arrived and suddenly opened fire.
The suspects, who were riding tandem on a motorcycle without registered plate, sped off.
The police learned that Hassan went to Cueno’s upholstery shop for the dressing up of his jeep.
