Public warned vs sub-standard Christmas decors

A TOP official of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has warned the public against buying sub-standards electrical Christmas decorations as the Yuletide Season is approaching.
The warning issued by Superintendent Dominador Zabala Jr., fire marshal of the BFP’s Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD), aimed to avoid the occurrence of fire incidents that might result to loss of life and destruction of properties during the Yuletide Season.
Zabala said the public must check that the electrical Christmas decorations they buy have passed the quality standards.
They should make sure that the products they are buying have the International Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker issued by the Department of Trade and Industry, Zabala said.
The ICC marking shows that Christmas decorations are of good quality, he added. (Bong Garcia)
