Tax bureau exceeds P1-M collection in August

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has exceeded by more P1 million in its collection from its target goal for the month of August this year, an official said.
Merlyn Vicente, head of BIR’s Revenue District 93-A, said her office has managed to collect the sum of P180,817,609.28 in August, which is higher than the set target collection goal of P179,226,000.
Vicente said the sources of collection of her office are from Income Tax Returns (ITR), transfer taxes, government projects, and business taxes.
Vicente said they are strictly monitoring on the compliance of all stakeholders to ensure they would realized the agency’s target collection goal in Zamboanga City.
The target collection goal of BIR for 2012 in this city is P1.8 billion, which is higher than last year’s P1.6 billion, she said.
She is confident that they could reach the P1.8 billion target collection goal with the development on the monthly collection. (Bong Garcia)
