AT LEAST 100 personnel from various Philippine law enforcement agencies have completed a 12-day course on Combat Zone Post Blast Investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The United States Embassy in a statement Thursday said the training was conducted in Manila and Zamboanga City from September 24 to October 6.
The participants were from the National Bureau of Investigation, National Police, Army, and Coast Guard.
The training was designed to provide instruction on using expedited methods for collecting evidence at crime scenes.
During the training, FBI instructors shared best practices in the collection and preservation of evidence, identification of improvised explosive devices, and processing of crime scenes.
“This is yet another example where the two countries [Philippines and USA] have come together to make the world safer for the public and to ensure that law enforcement has the best skills to address terrorism and other threats,” Ambassador Harry Thomas Jr. noted.
Thomas lauded the close working relationship between the FBI and its Philippines law enforcement partners.
The US Government will continue to seek out opportunities to collaborate in the fight against crime, Thomas added.
