Mayor leads 530th Air Base Wing awardees

MAYOR Celso Lobregat led the list of awardees of the 530th Air Base Wing in celebration of its 57th Anniversary on Wednesday.

“The number of awardees shows that the 530th Air Base Wing under Colonel Arnulfo Junio as wing commander has effectively reached out to the local government unit and the community. Colonel Junio is on the right track,” said Philippine Air Force (PAF) Lieutenant General Lauro Catalino Dela Cruz, who was the guest of honor in Wednesday’s awarding ceremony.

The other awardees, who in one way or another helped the 530th Air Base Wing in national development, were Juanito Censio, Marie Liselle Nova, Atty. Jose Ferdinand Roias, III, Dr. Myrna Angeles, Dr. John Michael Deliariarte, Dr. Silvino Tejada, Canelar Barangay Chairman Godofredo Sabordo, Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD) marshal Superintendent Dominador Zabala, Brigadier General Michael Salvaleon and Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) Director Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles.

The military awardees included Sergeant (Sgt.) Dwight Caballa, military merit medal; Edwin Andrews Air Base, Group of the Year; 5311th Security Forces Squadron, Squadron of the Year; Captain Norberto Estillote, Jr., Officer of the Year; Technical Sergeant (TSgt.) Marlone Montano, non-commissioned officer of the year; Sgt. Jolly Boy Cabagay, Airman of the Year; and Philip del Mundo, civilian employee of the year.

The awarding ceremony was preceded by the pass-in review of the 530th Air Base Wing’s disaster preparedness and response capability team and equipment, including bomb disposal unit, environment management team and other non-combatant capability. Bong Garcia
