Task Force Zamboanga has new commander

THE Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ), the military’s maneuver force in this southern port city, has a new commanding officer.
This came about after Colonel Buenaventura Pascual, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1984, was relieved and reassigned to a higher position in the military service.
The turnover of command ceremonies was held on Friday at Camp General Arturo Enrile in Zamboanga City wherein Pascual handed over his post to his PMA classmate, Colonel Glenn Macasero.
Macasero was formerly assigned to the Army’s 101st Infantry Brigade.
Pascual is set to assume command as the new commander of the Army’s 1003rd Infantry Brigade based in Davao del Norte.
Meanwhile, Mayor Celso Lobregat, recognizing the critical role the task force plays in keeping the city safe and sound, bade Pascual a sweet goodbye as he moves to a higher path in his military career and welcomed Macasero as the new TFZ commander.
“Thank you for all the things that you and TFZ have done to keep Zamboanga City not only safe but sound as well. As we say goodbye, we hope to see you in Zamboanga perhaps in the future and in another assignment,” Lobregat said of Pascual, who will soon assume as commander of the Army’s 1003rd Infantry Brigade based in Davao del Norte.
“I am sure you (Pascual) will be receiving your star very soon and you still have a long and colorful military career ahead,” Lobregat added even as he was happy to hear the new TFZ commander Macasero when the latter vowed to continue everything that has been done by Pascual and other previous TFZ commanders.
