City reminds bizmen to renew permits early

MAYOR Celso Lobregat has reiterated his call for owners and managers of business establishments operating in Zamboanga City to renew their business permits the earliest possible time to avoid the rush as well as sanctions of late processing.
The deadline for permit renewal and payment of business taxes is January 20, 2013.
The Permits and Licensing Division under the Office of the City Mayor has been accepting applications for the renewal of business permits for 2013 since October 1.
Lobregat said that early processing of permits renewal will help applicants avoid the rush and the payment of penalties based on existing laws.
Late payments will result in a surcharge of 25 percent and two percent additional penalty for every month of delay, Lobregat said.
He advised business permit renewal applicants to bring the original business permit for the year 2012 as basis for the renewal.
Business applications are to be secured at the Permits and Licensing Division, located at the ground floor of the City Hall. (Bong Garcia)
