Troops, NPA rebels clash
Thursday, May 23, 2013 - 10:16 p.m.A SOLDIER was killed while three others, including a junior officer, were wounded in a clash between the government forces and New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in the boundaries of Zamboanga del Sur and Misamis Occidental provinces.
Zamboanga Peninsula police spokesman Ariel Huesca said the clash happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday in the boundary of Tambulig town, Zamboanga del Sur and Bonifacio town, Misamis Occidental.
Lending firm collectors shot
Thursday, May 23, 2013 - 10:15 p.m.MOTORCYCLE-RIDING gunmen shot and killed a lending firm collector and injured another in an attack in a west coast village of Zamboanga City, a police official said Thursday.
Senior Inspector Edilberto Alvarez, Police Station 9 commander, identified the fatality as Bemilio Islanan, who died before reaching a hospital.

Imam Nasaron Haron (INH) Elementary School, which is located in Sitio Busicong, Sta. Maria villages, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, is the beneficiary of MTF and TVI Resource Development Philippines Inc. (TVIRD), according to MTF vice chairman Diane James on Thursday.
Sayyafs seize 4 in Sulu, Basilan

8 hurt in vehicular accident

Army joins ‘Brigada Eskwela’
Tuesday, May 21, 2013 - 09:45 p.m.THE Army’s 101st Infantry Brigade headed by Colonel Apolinario Alobba has assigned personnel to join in the week-long “Brigada Eskwela” of the Department of Education (DepEd) in selected public schools within the military’s Area of Responsibility (AOR).
The brigade’s AOR include the entire province of Zamboanga del Norte, which comprises of two cities and 25 municipalities; Misamis Occidental, which comprises three cities and 14 towns; and the municipalities of Molave, Tambulig, Josefina, Mahayag and Dumingag in the province of Zamboanga del Sur.
City Hall building repair complete

Man killed due to family dispute

Man, 60, dies in motorcycle crash

Zamboanga City buys new fire trucks

Motorbike collision kills 1, hurts another

One of the motorcycle drivers identified as Reynaldo Cañete, 31, was placed behind bars after he was found intoxicated with liquor, the police said.

3 guards face gun ban raps
