THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has released P29.6-million funds for the two Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, an official said.
Zamboanga Sibugay Agrarian Reform Officer Rizzel Villanueva said the funds released serve as monetary incentives to hasten the implementation of approved rural infrastructure projects.
The release of the financial incentive is a program under DAR’s ARC Project II and the National Government’s fiscal transfer mechanism Performance-Based Grant System (PBGS), Villanueva said.
The beneficiaries of the financial incentive are the Tri-People ARC in Tungawan municipality and Lower Sibuguey ARC in the town of Siay, she added.
She said the Tri-People ARC will receive P4.2 million for the concreting of the .84-kilometer Libertad farm-to-market road.
She said the Sibugay ARC will receive P25.4 million for the construction of 7.35-kilometer flood control dike cum farm-to-market road.
She lauded the PBGS since the completion of the two projects will redound to the ARB empowerment through social development. (Bong Garcia)
