FOUR people who were tagged as suspects in the killing of a village chief surrendered in the province of Lanao del Sur, a military official said Friday.
Army's 51st Infantry Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Ceasar Marlon Yadao identified the suspects as Datu Otog Bolawan, Alemodin Madid, Nasser Sultan and Satar Madid.
The four were tagged as the ones who killed Subuh Abdulharim, the village chief of Lumbac, Bayang, Lanao del Sur.
The suspects allegedly shot and killed Abdulharim on Wednesday in Barangay Bago-Ingud, Bayang. The incident prompted the troops to launch pursuit operations, Yadao said.
The suspects, however, surrendered to the pursuing troops in the evening of Wednesday, several hours after the incident took place.
Confiscated from the suspects were three M-16 Armalite rifles and M-14 rifle with several rounds of ammunition, said Yadao.
He said the four suspects were turned over to the police for the filing of appropriate charges against them. (Bong Garcia)
