MAYOR Celso Lobregat has commended the police, military and all other stakeholders for the peaceful and orderly observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day or “Undas” in Zamboanga City.

Lobregat made the rounds of major cemeteries in Zamboanga City on Thursday and Friday not only to look into the situation and the implementation of the Operation Plan (Oplan) Kaluluwa but also to visit the tombs of departed relatives and friends and former city officials, as he did in the past years.

“Our assessment is that it was very, very peaceful and orderly and we thank all those who helped contribute to the effort to ensure the strict enforcement of the traffic scheme and our executive orders,” Lobregat said.

He also cited the support and cooperation of the flower vendors, including the flower buyers, as vehicular and pedestrian traffic turned out to be smooth and hassle-free.

He likewise thanked the public for the cooperation in the implementation of the traffic rerouting scheme. (Bong Garcia)
