THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) is scheduled to conduct a two-day Capability Building Seminar-Workshop for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Leaders and Institutional Partners in Zamboanga City.
Owwa Zamboanga Peninsula Director Hassan Jumdain said the seminar-workshop is in line with President Benigno Simeon Aquino III’s directive to strengthen the services for the OFWs and to intensify campaign on various programs and services of the government to the countryside.
Jumdain said the seminar aims to promote the delivery of responsive, productive, and sustainable reintegration service to OFW returnees to enable them to maximize the gains of overseas employment.
Jumdain added that it is also the aim of OWWA to build a core group who will serve as their partners in assisting us for effective delivery of services all throughout the region.
He said that at least 70 OFWs and dependents coming from Isabela City, the capital of Basilan province, and Zamboanga City will attend the two-day seminar-workshop from November 8 to 9.
Topics like leadership, conflict resolution and entrepreneurship, and franchising will be discussed during the seminar through lecture, audio-visual presentation and role-play, he said.
The two-day activity will serve as a venue for information exchanges, strengthening of network and fostering positive communication, he said. (Bong Garcia)
