THE Task Force Edgar has released the cartographic sketch of one of the five suspects involved in the abduction of a businessman in Zamboanga City.
The victim, Edgar Fabella, 42, who owns and manages a general merchandise store and an eatery, was abducted around 6:40 p.m. Friday in the village of Maasin, 13 kilometers west of the city.
Zamboanga City police director Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo said on Sunday that the suspect’s artist sketch was derived from description given by witnesses.

De Ocampo has been designated as the head of task force Edgar, which was activated when Mayor Celso Lobregat convened on Saturday the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) and tackled measures on how to handle the abduction of Fabella.
One of the suspects, based on the artist sketch’s description, is a medium-built male between 27 to 28 years old, 5’6” to 5’7” tall, fair complexion, black eyes with thick eyebrows, and Tausug speaking.
Meanwhile, De Ocampo said the suspects have not yet contacted the victim’s family nor made any demands.
The victim was standing outside the gate of his house when three gunmen approached and at gunpoint dragged him to a motorized banca where two more gunmen were waiting.
The victim’s son, Zandie, who was at that time tending the family-owned eatery tried to come to his father’s rescue but failed as the suspects poked their guns on him.
The motorized banca sped towards the direction of Basilan province with three of the five suspects and the victim on board.
The other two suspects, who earlier even pretended to buy cigarettes from the victim’s eatery, boarded on two motorcycles that sped towards north direction.
