Mayor reiterates call to businessmen

MAYOR Celso Lobregat has reiterated his call to the owners of business establishments to renew their permits early.
Lobregat made the reiteration as the deadline for the renewal of business permits nears citing “they only have until Monday (January 21) to renew.”
Late renewal of business permits would mean a 25 percent surcharge plus additional two percent for every month of delay, according to Lobregat.
The mayor has ordered all the local government offices involved in the renewal of business permits to extend their working hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondaays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. during Saturdays and Sundays.
Covered by the mayor’s order are the City Treasurer’s Office, City Permits and Licensing Division, the Computer Services Division and City Planning and Development Office and other concerned offices.
City Administrator Antonio Orendain, Jr. said they expect that over 9,000 businessmen to renew their licenses for this year.
In addition, Orendain said they also expect at least 2,000 new applications for business permits and licenses.
Orendain said the taxes levied on the gross sales receipts for renewal while on capitalization for new applicants. (Bong Garcia)
