THE police have arrested two suspected drug pushers, one of them in possession of a stolen motorcycle, in separate operations in Zamboanga City.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) identified the arrested suspects as Manuel Rio and Aleson Allian, who was arrested on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
Police Station 9 Chief Inspector Edilberto Alvarez said Rio was arrested in an operation in the village of Recodo, west of this city, while trying to sell a motorcycle he allegedly stole on Tuesday.
The motorcycle is owned by Jose Verdeflor, who reported that his motorcycle was stolen from his residence in Recodo village around 6 a.m. Tuesday
The suspect is one of the suspected known drug pushers operating in the village of Recodo, Alvarez disclosed.
Allian was cornered in the village of Sta. Maria, north of this city, following a chase by policemen when the suspects tried to escape after sensing it was a buy-bust operation, according to Police Station 7 commander Chief Inspector Larry Domingo.
Domingo said the buy-bust operation was carried out around 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the village of Pasonanca, which is adjacent to the village of Sta. Maria.
Confiscated from the suspect’s possession were P500 in P100 denomination marked money, a motorcycle, and a sachet of suspected shabu, Domingo said. (Bong Garcia)
