THE police have arrested a suspected big-time drug pusher and seized an estimated P700,000 worth of prohibited drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, a police official said Monday.
Chief Inspector Elmer Acuña, Police Station 6 commander, said the buy-bust operation was carried out around 7 a.m. Monday in the vicinity of a gasoline station at Governor Lim Avenue, known as Magay, Zamboanga City.
Acuña identified the suspect as Jonjomar Abdul, 26, a native of Jolo, Sulu, with present residential address of 128-D, Masuhud Drive, Talon-Talon village.
Acuña said Abdul was arrested after he handed over a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman who pretended to be a buyer.
Acuña said the arrested team confiscated three sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P700,000, two cellular phones, two pocket notebooks and several identification cards.
The suspect came from a private wharf where he allegedly picked up the prohibited drugs from a wooden-hulled ferry that came from Jolo, Sulu, before he was arrested, Acuña added.
