A MUSLIM preacher, who was reportedly shot by unidentified persons, remained missing two days after the incident happened in Zamboanga City, a police official said.
Missing was Ustadz Baser Mursalon, 38, a resident of Labuan village, 36 kilometers (km) west of this city, said Zamboanga City Police Office Director Edwin de Ocampo.
Initial investigation showed that Mursalon was driving motorcycle on the way to the city proper when a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with unidentified people on board bumped the victim’s motorcycle, De Ocampo said.
The incident took place around 4:45 p.m. in Sitio Malandi, Patalon village.
The riders of the SUV disembarked from their vehicle and suddenly shot Mursalon who crashed on the pavement after he was bumped, De Ocampo said.
However, he said the suspects dragged the victim into the SUV and sped towards the city proper.
The SUV was later found abandoned with flat right front tire in the village of Sinubong, adding that Mursalon is still nowhere to be found, he said. (Bong Garcia)
