Family of 3 falls in buy-bust operation

A COUPLE and their son were arrested in an anti-drug buy-bust operation in the island province of Basilan, the police reported Thursday.
The suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation carried out by the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PAIDSOFT) around 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sitio Bakkaw-Bakkaw, Lower Port Holland village, Maluso town.
The task force was activated to address the problem concerning the proliferation of prohibited drugs in Basilan province.
The arrested suspects were identified as Abdulla Musa, his wife, Nursiya, and son, Niskan, according to the Basilan Police Provincial Office.
They were among the priority targets of PDEA since they were listed as among the suspected notorious drug pushers in Maluso town, the police said.
The suspects were arrested after they conspired in selling one sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the police said.
The arresting team has confiscated from the suspects’ possession a caliber .45 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition, a sachet of suspected shabu, one digital weighing scale, and P300 marked money. (Bong Garcia)
