THREE people were arrested after a shootout ensued in a suspected drug haven in an east coast village in Zamboanga City Saturday.
Zamboanga City Police officer-in-charge Edwin de Ocampo said the shootout broke out shortly after noontime Saturday at Sta. Catalina village.
Arrested were Muhaimin Sapie, Kaya Tikah and Dudal Ismael.
De Ocampo said police swooped down Sitio Buggok in Sta. Catalina village to serve the arrest warrant against Tikah, who is facing drug charges.
The shootout broke out after Sapie, upon seeing the arriving policemen, opened fire prompting the lawmen to retaliate, de Ocampo said.
Sapie was hit by the policemen and then was admitted at the Zamboanga City Medical Center while his two cohorts were detained, he said.
The raiding policemen have recovered a caliber .45 pistol as well as prohibited drugs, he added.
